HILABS (www.hilabs.com) is a health data analytics company with product offerings to healthcare payers and providers in the united states. The company was spun out of Yale University a few years ago.

We are looking for a product designer with strong interaction and visual design skills for our small, fast-moving product team. In the first three months of joining, you will get to work on our AI-driven data-heavy healthcare enterprise application, work on live projects directly with clients, and help build our new design system in Figma. As one of the first few members of our growing design team, we expect you to brainstorm UX problems, work with the product and engineering team to design functional user flows, convert them into clean UIs, and work with front-end engineers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation across platforms. We are a distributed team with offices in India and the US.
Identify design/product problems and devise elegant solutions.
Translate concepts into wireframes and mockups that lead to intuitive user experiences.
Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.
Facilitate product visions by researching, conceiving, wire framing, sketching, prototyping, and mocking up user experiences for digital products.
Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
This role involves designs that stretch from the real world into the digital offering a seamless experience
Champion the consumer, empathize with the consumer and drive visual and UX design, content strategy and user research in the pursuit of consistent and high-quality experiences.
Need to have
1-2 years of product/UX/interaction design experience
Should have a portfolio showcasing strong interaction and visual design skills
Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate across product and engineering teams, and with end-users and ability to clearly explain design decisions
Comfortable working in an early-stage team, and can navigate low-information environments
Ability to work closely with engineers to ensure your work is implemented perfectly
Comfortable using Figma as the primary design tool
Making data-driven product decisions alongside product/project managers
Ability to understand technical implications of their design decisions
Contribute to occasional marketing and brand design project
Familiarity with HTML, CSS and JS (enough to coordinate with our developers)
Good to have
Experience working on data-heavy enterprise software
Experience working on design systems
Hands-on experience on SKETCH, ADOBE-XD.
